Cookies and local storage

This document is a draft. It describes what the site actually does today, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet, and it is not indexed while that is true.
Cookies: none
This website sets no cookies. Not for analytics, not for advertising, not for tracking. That is why you see no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
What is stored in your browser instead
Two things, both in your own browser, both readable only by this site:
`ai:theme` — whether you chose the light or the dark theme. Without it, the site would forget your choice on every page.
`ai:progress:
Neither leaves your device. We cannot read them, and they are not sent to us with requests. Clearing your browser data deletes them, and the site keeps working.
Third parties
No third-party script runs on this site: no analytics, no advertising, no social embed, no external font service. Fonts and styles are served from our own domain.
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., which processes request logs as a hosting provider. That is described on the privacy page.
Links that leave this site
A tool vendor we link to may set its own cookies once you are on its site. That happens **after** you leave here, under that vendor's policy and that vendor's cookie banner — not ours. Nothing on this site reads those cookies or passes anything to them.
The same is true of the payment provider if you buy the PDF edition. You are on their page, under their terms, at that point.
If that changes
If an analytics tool or a checkout script is added later, this page changes first, and any tool that needs consent will not run before you give it.
