Product names, model names, and company names mentioned in this book are the trademarks of their respective owners. Their appearance here is descriptive. It implies no affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement in either direction.

Part XI explains the rules that apply to a synthetic persona: the EU AI Act, platform policies, disclosure duties, image rights, and personal data. It is written as carefully as we can write it, and it is still not legal advice. Regulation here is under a year old and still moving. Before you publish a persona, register a business, or sell anything, get advice from someone qualified in your jurisdiction who has read the current text.

Nothing in this book is a promise of income. Part IX reports what practitioners have actually earned, with the source named for every figure, and separates first-person reports from marketing. Your result will depend on your niche, your willingness to work the funnel, and things nobody can predict.

Point-in-time data

Prices, model availability, platform policies, and legal deadlines in this book were accurate as of October 2026. Generative tooling changes on a scale of weeks, and one of the five events covered in chapter 0.2 was a major vendor switching off a product entirely.

Three consequences, and they are deliberate design decisions rather than caveats:

  • Every price in Appendix B carries the date it was checked.
  • Technical chapters are written about categories of tool, not single products, so a vendor disappearing does not invalidate the chapter.
  • Appendix G lists the claims we could not verify, so you know which numbers to distrust first.

What this book will not teach you

It will not teach you to hide that your persona is synthetic, to evade a platform's disclosure rules, or to imply to an audience that a generated person is human. It will not teach you to build a persona around a real person's face without their consent. Part XI explains why each of those is a losing position and not only an ethical one, and chapter 11.6 states the line plainly.
